Nitro Circus Live athletes performed their most spectacular show to date at a sold out show at Allphones Arena in Sydney last night. All athletes performed the biggest action sports tricks in the world, which included world first feats, causing a standing ovation from over 15,000 screaming fans.

Young Victorian BMX rider, Matt Whyatt, performed a world first BMX trick with his back flip, tail whip to late 360 followed by Dusty Wygle (USA) who rode out of the first ever lazy boy flip on a BMX. The Big Air segment on the Giganta Ramp finished with Nitro Circus star ‘Special’ Greg Powell (USA) riding out of the biggest BMX body varial ever performed. Powell is the only rider in the world to perform the trick he called the ‘Special Flip’, where he leaves the bike mid air over a 40 foot gap to back flip and then returns to the bike.

The insanity continued on the FMX side when Jackson Strong (AUS) performed a huge front flip and Cam Sinclair (AUS), his signature double back flip. It is the first time the two most death defying tricks in the sport have been performed in the same show. Both riders were lucky to ride away from the tricks, with Strong over shooting the trick to almost land on the flat. Thankfully his skill enabled him to ride out of it.

It was the first double back flip Sinclair has attempted since he broke his femur performing the trick in Las Vegas last year, and the force of the rotations caused his hands to fly off the handlebars on landing. Sinclair’s great skill on the bike also meant he escaped crashing and rode out of the trick to huge celebrations from the Nitro Circus athletes and animated crowd.

Other memorable tricks of the night included extreme wheelchair athlete, Aaron ‘Wheelz’ Fotheringham (USA), coming incredibly close to his two front flip attempts off the Giganta, Australia’s Clint Moore landing a FMX body varial to heel clicker, Blake ‘Bilko’ Williams (AUS) returning to form and busting out a huge Cliffhanger back flip and Mark Monea (AUS) managing to walk away from a spectacular crash after his corked out FMX front flip.

Managing Director of Nitro Circus Live, Michael Porra, said it was the best Nitro Circus Live event the group has ever performed.

“All of the athletes stepped up to the plate last night and every single one of them performed the most insane tricks on the planet. That’s the beauty of this show; once an athlete performs a world first or pushes their limits it makes every other athlete in the show want to do the same. The Sydney crowd last night sensed that and were brought to their feet screaming on so many occasions,” Porra said after the show.

Nitro Circus Live has one more show at Allphones Arena tonight before making its way to Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. The tour will then head to Europe for its first ever tour there corresponding with the global release of the 3D Nitro Circus movie.
