The worldwide touring sensation, Nitro Circus Live, which in 2011 was the number one touring act in New Zealand, will return in January 2013 to once again take the country by storm. The ground-breaking action sports icon will come to New Zealand direct from a 13 stop tour across Europe, and will be rolling through Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch & Dunedin.
After breaking box office records in 2011, where over 100,000 New Zealanders saw the show, Nitro Circus Live has been touring the world, including a 14,000 seat sellout show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The Nitro Circus crew have been busy filming their 3D movie, which was released to rave fan reviews earlier this month across North America.
The motion picture is set for global release, including New Zealand, in November this year.
Headlining the tour will be the Nitro Crew, from the hit MTV series and the 3D movie, including Erik Roner (USA), Special Greg (USA), Streetbike Tommy (USA), Gregg Godfrey (USA) & Jeremy Rawle (USA).
13 times X Games medallist Nate Adams (USA) and the only rider performing consistent double backflips, Cam Sinclair (AUS) will be performing, as well as multiple X Games medallists Blake ‘Bilko’ Williams (AUS), & king of the FMX whip Jarryd McNeil (AUS), Sydney X Fighters Champion Josh Sheehan (AUS), Steve Mini (AUS), and Clinton Moore (AUS).
Some of the best BMX riders in the world will also feature including X-Games medalist and double front-flipping Aussie Andy Buckworth (AUS) and James Foster (USA), the only man in the world who is regularly throwing down the triple backflip. New Zealand fans will see these tricks at every show on the tour.
Not only will all of the stars be performing the biggest tricks in FMX and BMX, they will also be pushing their limits and skill on a range of crazy contraptions on the amazing mutli-million dollar set, which includes the 50 foot high Nitro Gigant-A-Ramp.
Fans can expect to see kids trikes, snow skis, Barbie cars, garbage bins, chilly bins and more launched with skill off the Gigant-A-Ramp.
Fan favourite and extreme wheelchair athlete Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham (USA) will excite and inspire with his courage and skill on the 50 foot ramp, and fans can also expect to see spectacular choreographed riding including the 18 rider ‘Nitro Bomb’ combination train, which sees 18 riders in different disciplines upside-down at the same time.
“We are so excited about bringing Nitro Circus Live back to New Zealand for the second time,” said Managing Director of Global Action Sports, Michael Porra. “We have been across the globe in the last couple of years, but our 2011 New Zealand tour still stands out as the biggest and craziest tour we have ever done. The Kiwi fans are the most passionate fans you will ever come across, and we’re so stoked to be coming back.
“This new show that we have created has sold out arenas in Las Vegas, the O2 in London, and right across Europe. You really have to see it to believe it.” Porra concluded.
